This Privacy Policy explains how Rafale Car Rental L.L.C. (“Rafale”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data when you visit or use our website, mobile application, or subscription services (the “Platform”).

Rafale Rent L.L.C. is a limited-liability company incorporated in the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, holding Trade Licence No. 1567586, Commercial Registration No. 2736956, and Tax Registration No. 105209212700001, with its registered office at Office No. 5, I-SH-371, Dubai Industrial City, Saih Shuaib 2, Dubai, UAE.

By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy and consent to the processing of your data as described below, in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the “PDPL”) and related executive regulations.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Identification data: full name, date of birth, Emirates ID or passport details, driving licence information.

• Contact data: email address, mobile number, billing and residential address.

• Payment data: masked card numbers, transaction IDs, and billing history (processed securely through approved payment gateways).

• Subscription and vehicle data: vehicle category, booking dates, mileage, location (GPS tracking for safety and theft prevention), tolls, and fines.

• Technical data: IP address, device type, browser information, and cookies (see Clause 10).

• Optional data: special requests or communications you submit to us.

2. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing

Your personal data is processed only for lawful purposes, including:

• To create and manage your account, verify identity, and assess eligibility;

• To process bookings, payments, deposits, and refunds;

• To handle insurance, fines, and government compliance (e.g., RTA and Dubai Police notifications);

• To improve our Platform, prevent fraud, and ensure security; and 

• To send service updates or promotional offers. 

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We never sell or rent your personal data. We may share it only with:

• Partner Suppliers: licensed UAE rental companies providing vehicles under Rafale’s Platform.

• Service Providers: payment gateways, IT hosting, insurance companies, maintenance partners.

• Government Authorities: RTA, Dubai Police, and tax or judicial bodies when required by law.

• Professional Advisers: lawyers, auditors, and insurers acting under confidentiality obligations.

All third parties are bound by written contracts requiring them to handle data securely and only for the stated purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain personal data for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Policy:

• Subscription records and billing data: 5 years after account closure (per UAE Tax Law and Civil Code).

• Insurance and accident files: 3 years from claim settlement.

• Cookies and analytics data: deleted within 12 months.

When the retention period expires, the data is securely deleted or anonymised.

5. International Data Transfers

Rafale stores all personal data on secure UAE-based servers. If transfer outside the UAE is required (for example, for payment processing or cloud hosting), it will occur only to countries approved by the UAE Data Office and with appropriate safeguards under Articles 22 and 23 of the PDPL.

6. Your Rights Under the PDPL

You have the following rights, which you may exercise by emailing help@rafale-rent.com :

a) Access your personal data and request a copy.

b) Request correction of inaccurate data.

c) Request erasure once data is no longer needed.

d) Request restriction or objection to processing.

e) Request transfer of data to another controller (data portability).

f) Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

Rafale shall respond within 30 days of receiving your verified request, as required by Article 14 PDPL.

7. Data Security

We implement technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS and SSL).

• Secure payment gateways compliant with PCI DSS standards.

• Role-based access controls for employees.

• Regular back-ups and penetration testing.

Although we strive for the highest security, no system is completely infallible; you use the Platform at your own risk within the limits of UAE law.

8. Marketing and Communications

With your consent, Rafale may send emails or SMS updates about promotions and new services. You may opt-out at any time by clicking “unsubscribe” or emailinghelp@rafale-rent.com .

Transactional communications (such as payment receipts or booking notices) cannot be disabled because they form part of the contractual service.

9. Children’s Privacy

The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has provided data without parental consent, we will delete it immediately.

10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies to:

• Enable core Platform functions,

• Analyse usage for service improvement, and

• Remember your preferences.

You can control cookies via your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit Platform functionality.

Analytics tools may collect anonymised data such as page views and session duration.

11. Complaints and Enquiries

If you believe your data has been handled in breach of the PDPL, you may first contact Rafale’s DPO at help@rafale-rent.com .
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may submit a complaint to the UAE Data Office through its official website at https://www.dataoffice.gov.ae.

12. Policy Updates

Rafale may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in law or practice. The latest version will always be available on our Platform. The “Last Updated” date indicates the effective version. Continued use after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
